Summer season, summer work. This is a new collection from a June 25’ visit to both Arrowhead and Algonquin Provincial parks. Although tiny by Algonquin standards, Peck Lake offers a fantastic, water-level trail that circumnavigates the entire lake. It affords some vantage points that many of the lakes do not. I’m happy with the result here.

The following 6 sketches are also a part of the same excursion. I wanted these works to be completed faster, looser and feel more like sketches than small paintings. It’s been some time since I’ve worked on red oxide, but I think it feels well-suited for this collection. These sketches are now on display at Crown & Press Gallery in Hamilton.
